Cleft gate hurdles are small gate-like fence units traditionally used for folding sheep. They are made using cleft chestnut or ash. This course is in the woods, where you'll be cleaving wood using axes, wedges and froes. Draw knives and shave horses are used to shape the lexes, while augers and chisels are employed to create mortises for them to fit into.
